From the Cleveland Plain Dealer...
Last week, Kansas City canceled its Florida Instructional League program. The Royals said it will save them $200,000. Shapiro, however, feels it's a vital part of the Indians' player development program.
"It's the only place where you can ask a player to make adjustments in his game and not have him feel the pressure of putting up stats," said Shapiro. "The stats don't count in instructional league."
Shapiro is right, I hope Steinbrenner continuest to challenge the labor agreement and wins his case.
